Admissions Criteria
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse educational, professional, and life experiences. Admission pathways include both standard and special entry options for each course:
Graduate Diploma of Counselling (Holistic Practice)
Standard Entry
To apply through standard entry, applicants must:
Hold a completed AQF Level 7 Bachelor’s degree or higher, including counselling skills training, or have completed a relevant Metavision Institute bridging course
Meet English language proficiency requirements if English is not their first language and their previous qualification was not delivered in English
Attend an admissions interview
Special and Alternative Entry
Applicants without a degree may be considered if they have:
An approved professional qualification; or
A minimum of three years’ full-time (or part-time equivalent) relevant professional experience and training within the past ten years, including counselling skills training; or
Completed a relevant Metavision Institute bridging course
All applicants must also:
Meet English language proficiency requirements (if applicable)
Attend an admissions interview

Hold an AQF Level 7 Bachelor’s degree with counselling skills training and one year of relevant full-time equivalent work experience (paid or voluntary); or
Hold an AQF Level 8 Graduate Diploma or higher qualification with counselling skills training; or

Applicants who do not meet the above may be considered for entry if they have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma of Counselling (Holistic Practice).
All applications are assessed individually to ensure readiness for postgraduate study and alignment with Metavision’s holistic approach.
We recognise the value of life and professional experience. Applicants without a formal qualification may be considered for entry into the Graduate Diploma or Master’s (via portfolio or bridging study) with a minimum of three years full-time equivalent professional experience in related fields within the past ten years.

Metavision Institute welcomes applications from Australian citizens and permanent residents who hold overseas qualifications.
As part of our admissions process, all overseas qualifications are reviewed by our Dean to ensure they are equivalent to the relevant level of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Applicants are required to submit full academic transcripts and certificates as part of their application. These documents are securely recorded in our admissions system and assigned for formal assessment.
If the qualification is deemed equivalent, the application proceeds to the next stage of the admissions process. Where necessary, additional supporting documentation may be requested to assist with this evaluation.
Please note: If the qualification was not completed in English, applicants may also be required to demonstrate English language proficiency through an approved language test.

Metavision Institute offers students the flexibility to pay tuition fees through a structured payment plan. Students must either pay the full unit tuition fees for the semester in advance or sign a Payment Option Agreement prior to the commencement of their course.
All available payment plan options are outlined in the Payment Option Agreement form. Students are required to choose the most suitable option, then sign and return the completed form to the Administration Office. Invoices will be issued in accordance with the selected payment plan, with full payment details provided.
Failure to make payments by the specified due dates may result in the cancellation of enrolment, unless alternative arrangements have been approved in advance.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the Student Liaison Officer as early as possible to discuss your options. A late fee of 2% per month on the outstanding balance will apply to overdue payments unless prior arrangements have been made.
Students may withdraw from enrolled units prior to the published Census Date and receive a full refund of unit tuition fees. Please note that the application fee and course deposit are non-refundable.
Withdrawals made after the Census Date are generally not eligible for a refund. However, students facing genuine special circumstances may apply for a refund by submitting a Withdrawal Application Form, available on the website. All applications must be supported by appropriate documentary evidence.
Please note: the course deposit remains non-refundable, even in cases where a refund is granted for unit tuition fees.
Metavision Institute is committed to supporting access to education for all students. Each year, a limited number of scholarships are available for students from equity backgrounds, including a dedicated scholarship for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student.
To be considered, applicants must complete a formal Scholarship Application Form and provide a supporting reference. All applications are reviewed by the Teaching and Learning Committee, and decisions are made based on merit and alignment with scholarship criteria.
