Complaints and Appeals

At Metavision Institute, we are committed to ensuring that all student concerns are addressed with fairness, professionalism, and care. Whether your concern is academic or non-academic, we provide a transparent and equitable process to help you feel heard and supported.

This page outlines how to raise a grievance, lodge a complaint, or submit an appeal – in a way that honours your right to be treated respectfully and without discrimination.

What You Can Expect

  • A process guided by fairness, natural justice, and confidentiality
  • The opportunity to be heard and receive an impartial response
  • Protection from victimisation or unfair treatment
  • The option to bring a support person to meetings
  • Access to independent advice or mediation if needed

Academic Matters

Academic concerns may relate to assessment outcomes, academic decisions, teaching quality, or aspects of the learning environment.

We encourage you to first seek informal resolution by discussing your concerns directly with the staff member involved.

If the issue remains unresolved or informal steps are not appropriate, you may submit a formal written complaint. This should include:

  • A summary of the issue

  • Evidence of prior attempts to resolve it

  • The outcome you are seeking

If you’re dissatisfied with the decision, you have the right to submit an appeal within the specified timeframe.

Refer to the Student Grievance, Complaints and Appeals Policy (Academic) for full details

Non-Academic Matters

Non-academic concerns may include issues related to:

  • Admissions and enrolment

  • Student services and wellbeing

  • Facilities or resources

  • Conduct of staff or other students (not related to academic performance)

You are encouraged to resolve the issue informally first. If that is not possible or the concern is serious, a formal complaint may be submitted in writing. Please provide:

  • A clear description of the issue

  • Supporting evidence

  • The steps you’ve taken so far

  • The resolution you’re seeking

If you’re not satisfied with the outcome, you may submit a formal appeal within the given timeframe.

Refer to the Student Grievance, Complaints and Appeals Policy (Non-Academic) for more information.

External Review

If you have completed the internal complaints and appeals process and remain dissatisfied, you may request an external review. For example:

All matters are treated with strict confidentiality and in line with privacy legislation. Only authorised staff involved in the resolution process will have access to your information.
