Campus Facilities and Resources Management Policy
Purpose
Metavision Institute is committed to providing quality on-campus teaching spaces and learning resources for students to ensure a positive study experience. The purpose of this policy is to ensure there are robust and effective processes in place for planning and monitoring third party agreements for the provision of campus facilities and resources, to ensure a quality learning environment and the successful delivery of its higher education courses.
Scope
This policy applies to on-campus physical teaching and learning spaces, and other on-campus resources for students.
Definitions
Campus facilities refer to physical teaching and learning spaces, including training rooms and student break out areas.
Resources refers to on-campus resources provided for students, including Wi-Fi, break-out areas and access to kitchen facilities.
Relevant TEQSA Threshold Standards
This policy aligns with requirements of Sections 2.1 Facilities and Infrastructure, 5.3 Monitoring, Review and Improvement and 6.2 Corporate Monitoring and Accountability in the Higher Education Standards Framework 2015.
Policy
- Allocation of on-campus teaching spaces is planned on a semester by semester basis according to student enrolments and timetabled classes.
- Regular evaluations of campus facilities and resources will be undertaken with academic teaching staff and students, and recommendations for improvement will be reported to Metavision Institute’s Academic and Governance Boards.
- Staff are to report any quality or safety concerns in relation to on-campus facilities and resources to the Executive Officer, who will address these concerns with the third party provider in a timely manner.
Implementation
- The Academic Director allocates classrooms for timetabled workshop intensives according to timetabled units and student enrolments, and plans to meet any identified shortage of classrooms in a timely manner.
- Timetabled room allocations are checked against projected and actual student enrolments on a weekly basis prior to the start of each semester.
- The Executive Officer addresses identified maintenance needs with the third party provider of on-campus facilities in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
The Academic Director is responsible for ongoing planning to ensure the availability of quality on-campus facilities for Metavision Institute’s higher education courses according to student enrolments and projected student growth.
The Executive Officer is responsible for oversight of the provision of on-campus facilities and resources by the third party provider, and for liaising with the third party provider about quality and safety concerns and facility maintenance needs.
All staff members are responsible for reporting on-campus quality and safety concerns and facility maintenance needs as they arise.
The Governance Board is responsible for monitoring the third party agreement for the provision of on-campus facilities and resources, and planning improvement actions when necessary.
