Ramsay began his professional life working as an actor and puppeteer in theatre, film and television. As his theatre experience deepened, he became fascinated by the psychological and spiritual aspects of acting and creativity. Ramsay studied Raj Yoga and Buddhism in India, and Anthroposophy in Australia. He worked at various Steiner Schools, teaching creativity and directing theatre projects. During this time, he was introduced to Process Work by Christina Neilson. He studied Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Metavision Institute, graduating in 2012. Ramsay went on to attain a Masters in Process Oriented Psychology at the Process Work Institute in Portland, Oregon.
Ramsay has worked as Creative Therapist with Inala (Anthroposophic Social Therapy) in Sydney. While living in the USA, he directed the award winning Social Circus at the Circus Project in Portland Oregon. As well as currently working in private practice, Ramsay is directing a social enterprise project working with homelessness.
As a therapist, Ramsay is passionate about applying creativity within the therapeutic relationship. He is very experienced working in the fields of substance use, trauma, altered and extreme states and group dynamics. He works deeply with life mythology, dream work methods, movement and imagination.
As a teacher, Ramsay is developing an Holistic approach to teaching and group dynamics. He believes that all of us are learning how to dream together, and seeks to engender fluidity into the roles of the educational field. Ramsay brings a wealth of experience in applied creativity and develops creative holistic processes that serve to enliven theoretical knowledge.
