Should I study the Master's or the Graduate Diploma?

The one year Graduate Diploma focusses on counselling skills. Ideal for those wishing to deepen and extend counselling skills, this course covers a holistic approach to the person, application of this approach to counselling, and an introduction to process oriented methodologies and skills. The aim of holistic counselling is to promote critical questioning and reflection on the human condition and spirituality, and their relationship to wellbeing.

The two year Master's degree course expands on the content of the Graduate Diploma to develop specialised and advanced knowledge and skills in holistic counselling and psychotherapy and process oriented methodologies and skills. The aim of holistic counselling and psychotherapy is to promote critical questioning and reflection on the human condition and spirituality, and their relationship to wellbeing. The training will facilitate the formation of graduates as psychotherapists.

What does accreditation mean?

The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) is Australia's national regulator for higher education. Accreditation of a provider and its courses by TEQSA indicates that the provider meets TEQSA's standards for educational quality, free intellectual enquiry, governance and oversight, academic staff and administrative support.

What are the benefits of studying a Higher Education course?

Completing our Graduate Diploma or Master's program broadens your employment options in the government and private sector, as the qualification is equivalent to those from a mainstream University. Metavision graduates also find skills acquired through experiential learning help in all areas of their lives.
