What does it mean to truly belong — to your body, to the land, and to something greater than yourself?
In a world that often pulls us toward disconnection, Somatic Ecotherapy offers a return. A reweaving of the sacred threads between psyche, soma, soil, soul, and spirit.
At the heart of our Somatic Ecotherapy Guide Certification lies the Five Terrains Framework — a poetic, developmental map that gently supports both your personal unfolding and your emergence as a nature-based guide.
Each terrain introduces a unique constellation of tools and invitations, offering you a way to meet others where they are — and to guide them into deeper relationship with the more-than-human world.
The Trailhead: Thresholds & Intentions
This is the terrain of sacred beginnings. Here, we practise the art of arrival — creating space, crossing thresholds, and entering the field of ceremony. Trailhead marks the shift from ordinary consciousness into deep relational presence.
The Meadow: Grounding & Safety
In the Meadow, we attune to the body. Through nature mindfulness, sensory presence, and slow earth-based practice, we begin to calm the nervous system and find a grounded rhythm. This terrain lays the foundation for embodied guiding.
The Forest: Inner Wilderness
This terrain invites us into dialogue with our inner world — supported by the wisdom of wild places. Through a practice called The Spiral, we explore parts work in relationship with land and more-than-human Elders, opening space for healing, integration, and soul-tending.
The Mountain: Ecological Identity
Here, we remember who we are beyond the small self. Through Earth-Based Listening, we cultivate somatic relationships with place, allowing identity to shift from ego to eco. This is a terrain of reverence, rootedness, and radical belonging.
The Sky-Cave: Mythopoetic Thresholds
Glimpsed but not fully traversed in this training, the Sky-Cave hints at soul and spirit dimensions — inviting a deeper surrender to mystery. These realms often emerge organically through land-based practice and will be explored further in future programs.
