A Holistic Approach to Student Wellbeing

Explore how Metavision fosters student wellbeing through holistic support, personal counselling, and a deeply human approach to transformational learning.

How We Support the Whole Person, Not Just the Student

At Metavision, we believe education should be transformational, not transactional. We don’t just teach psychotherapy – we embody it in how we hold, support, and journey with each student.

Our Student Wellbeing Agreement is more than a policy – it’s a reflection of our values. It guides the way we show up for students: with care, integrity, and deep respect for the personal journey each individual is undertaking alongside their academic development.

Here’s how we put that into practice:

1. We Honour the Whole Person

We recognise that our students are human beings first – each with a unique story, life context, and emotional landscape. Learning is not isolated from life. That’s why we take a holistic approach to education, one that weaves together:

  • Emotional wellbeing – Making space for feelings and inner experience
  • Mental health – Supporting students through the highs and lows of study
  • Social connection  Encouraging relationships that nourish and sustain

2. We Encourage Inner Awareness

We invite students to engage deeply with their inner processes as part of their professional development. Self-awareness is not optional – it’s foundational.

That means:

  • Recognising unhelpful patterns and cultivating new ways of being
  • Learning that asking for support is a strength
  • Embracing personal growth as essential to therapeutic practice

3. We Require Personal Counselling

All students participate in personal counselling – a core part of the curriculum:

  • 5 sessions in Year One
  • 10 sessions in Year Two

This is not a checkbox – it’s a space for real transformation. Personal counselling provides a safe container for reflection, healing, and integration. It also models what students will one day hold for others in their own practice.

4. We Help You Build Support Networks

No one thrives in isolation. That’s why we actively encourage students to build their own circle of support during the program. This includes:

  • Weekly check-ins with your study buddy for shared reflection and encouragement
  • Connecting with Metavision staff, who are here to guide and support you
  • Engaging with placement organisations and professional networks to extend your community beyond the classroom

Many of our students develop lifelong friendships and professional partnerships through these networks.

5. We Commit to Accessibility and Inclusion

Metavision is committed to supporting diverse learning needs, including for students with visible and invisible disabilities. We encourage students to reach out to our Student Liaison if they have concerns, questions, or need adjustments during their study journey.

We want every student to feel seen, safe, and supported.

Zoom Etiquette That Respects Your Energy

We recognise that many of our students are navigating full lives. Our Zoom culture is built on clarity, respect, and flexibility:

  • Sessions start promptly within 5 minutes
  • Cameras on are encouraged to foster connection, but we respect your needs — especially if you’re not in a private space or attending in transit
  • If you’re unable to join breakout sessions or practice exercises due to your setup, just communicate with your facilitator — we’ll always do our best to accommodate

A Culture of Care

The heart of Metavision lies not just in what we teach, but in how we walk with our students. We are here to nurture your learning, support your growth, and help you become the kind of practitioner who knows — deeply — how to hold space for others, because you’ve been held, too.

If you’re considering joining us, know this:
You won’t just be a student. You’ll be part of a community that sees you.
